There's news from Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp this week. Read on to find out more and click the links at the end of each post for the full story.

Facebook is currently testing Stories for desktop users in a bid to get people to use the feature as much as they do with Instagram Stories. The new feature will allow users to upload photos and videos from their computer’s gallery or webcam straight to their story. But after Facebook have already linked their Stories from Messenger to the main app, and even allowed cross posting of Stories from Instagram, will Facebook Stories ever actually kick off? I don’t think so; maybe Facebook should stop trying so hard and leave Stories to Insta and Snapchat! Read more here.

Similarly if you use Facebook messenger or WhatsApp, Instagram now reveals to those you’ve directed messaged when you were last online, or if you are online at that present moment. This may be useful if you need to message someone and get a quick response, but not so good when that person you have been trying to avoid can see you’re online! You can turn this feature off by going into your settings, scrolling down and turning off  ‘show activity status’, however by turning this off you won’t be able to see other accounts activity status either. What do you think about this new feature? You can read more about it here.

WhatsApp have finally brought out their new app, WhatsApp Business, which is aimed at small business owners to help bring new and innovative ways to connect with customers. Users can create a profile for their business and add details such as the company website, location and contact information.  Unfortunately this app is only available on Android at the moment but maybe WhatsApp will expand to an iOS version in the future!
